All valid criticisms. The hidden scroll bar is also really hard to use. It removes the ability to jump to a position by clicking. It's hard to see sometimes too.

You'll notice that Apple loves to champion usability (HIG etc) ... except when it flies in the face of their minimalist aesthetic.
