Have you used WebKit? I'm running into issues with bugs that were reported 2+ years ago.

All browsers have these sort of bugs. This is not unique to WebKit. All browsers have "quirks". All browsers have parts of standard APIs that they implement incompletely or slightly different. None of this is unique to WebKit.
